River Ness Marathon :: Marathon Abhainn Nis

The annual River Ness Marathon (Marathon Abhainn Nis in Gaelic) is organised by members of Inverness Canoe Club and constitutes one of four marathon events held each year in northern Scotland as part of the SCA's Highland Marathon Series.

Each year, more and more people are drawn to the event, which tours the Caledonian Canal and River Ness and ends up in the centre of the Capital of the Highlands; it proves a fantastic day out for all the family!

Serious paddlers can undertake the challenging long-course, while those who like life a little more relaxed can paddle the shorter section from Dochgarroch down to the city centre...if you're in it to win it, or just enjoy a social paddle, then there's something to keep you occupied!

The next River Ness Marathon will be held on: tbc 2011
